Woodshop
Since the founding of The School in Rose Valley, the Shop has been at its center.
The Shop program continues to affirm the belief that knowledge is best attained through direct experience; that the most thorough and satisfying education occurs when a student is actively involved: seeing, touching, manipulating and experiencing.
Here the phrase "learning by doing" remains alive in its original rich meaning, describing the very process of existence, capturing the essence of knowledge lived, integrated and thoughtfully reapplied as children fuse past, present and future together in single moments of creation. This is the emphasis of process over product, with a product that makes the process both meaningful and worthwhile.
