O’Brien Carlson

O’Brien began teaching at SRV in 2014 and has been thrilled ever since. Each year she becomes even more passionate about upper elementary education. Developmentally, they are driven toward justice, constantly advocating for fairness and equality, while also bringing an infectious sense of fun to everything they do. Teaching with their curiosity at the forefront continues to be a rewarding experience. O’Brien has also enjoyed her role as the Elementary Program Leader since 2021. Her goal is to create more positive teacher collaboration that fosters better teaching and a stronger community, directly contributing to the growth and success of our students. O’Brien holds an M.S.Ed. from the University of Pennsylvania, and a B.A. in Psychology from Rhodes College in Memphis, TN. O’Brien has two children who have attended SRV and is still grateful for the gift of watching them grow and learn in such a loving environment. She enjoys both adventuring and unwinding with her family, books for education and enjoyment and embraces fitness that fosters strength.
