Ian joined The School in Rose Valley in February 2025 and has served in a variety of roles, including Building Substitute, Dedicated Student Support, and Assistant Teacher. He brings a distinctive blend of classroom experience and corporate leadership, providing individualized, relationship-based instruction while helping students build confidence, independence, and a love of learning.
Ian graduated from Boston College with a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy before volunteering at the Kopila Valley Children’s Home and Elementary School in Nepal, where he discovered his passion for education. He later spent more than a decade in marketing, advertising, and sales, working with companies including Amazon Advertising and Glanbia Performance Nutrition, before returning to education after moving with his family to the Philadelphia area.
Ian and his wife, Cathryn, have two daughters, Charlotte and Isla, as well as a dog, Scout, and a cat named Atticus.
