Welcome to SRV’s Kindergarten Program

Kindergarten is a magical and transformative year in a child’s journey, filled with discovery, growth, and joy. At The School in Rose Valley, our Kindergarten program strikes the perfect balance between play, exploration, and academic learning, fostering a love for school while helping children develop essential skills like independence, critical thinking, and collaboration. Here, children engage in activities that spark curiosity, encourage problem-solving, and strengthen social bonds, all within a nurturing community that celebrates each child’s unique strengths.

Enrollment Options and Requirements

To join our Kindergarten program, children must be 5 years old by September 1 of the school year. We offer flexible enrollment options to accommodate different family needs:

A Day in SRV Kindergarten

Each day at SRV is carefully crafted to balance structured activities with opportunities for free exploration. Students may start their day with a circle time that encourages community and sets a theme for the day. They might then move on to math or literacy activities, followed by time in our outdoor classroom or a visit to our art studio. In the afternoons, children dive into special subjects like music, physical education, and Spanish, all designed to inspire creativity, foster physical health, and broaden their perspectives.

Guiding Children Toward Lifelong Learning: Our Kindergarten curriculum fosters critical thinking and emotional resilience. Children learn to express their feelings, resolve conflicts, and make choices that reflect empathy and respect for others. They also practice self-care and responsibility, learning to take charge of their own belongings and manage transitions throughout the day.

By the end of Kindergarten, our students are well-prepared for the next stages of their educational journey, with strong foundations in reading, math, science, and social studies. They are confident learners, eager to explore, and equipped with the skills they need to navigate the world around them.
