Rod Stanton

Rod joined The School in Rose Valley community in 2015 as Head of School. With a background rooted in progressive education, Rod brought a passion for student-centered learning to SRV. Prior to his tenure at SRV, Rod spent many years at The Crefeld School in Philadelphia, a small progressive institution. He initially served as a history teacher before becoming the Summer School Dean and later the Assistant Head of School.

Rod holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from Saint Joseph’s University and a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Immaculata University. These qualifications provide a strong foundation for his leadership at SRV and reflect his commitment to fostering a thoughtful, student-centered school community.

Residing in Malvern, Rod shares his life with his wife, Lauren, and their two children, Lily and Bennett. His family is a central part of his life, and he cherishes the time they spend together. Outside of his professional commitments, Rod has a variety of interests that keep him engaged and fulfilled. He is an avid reader who enjoys exploring new ideas and perspectives through books. He also has a passion for collecting, finding joy in curating and preserving items of personal significance.

Rod enjoys staying active and has a keen interest in sports, both as a participant and a spectator. His love for music matches his enthusiasm for physical activity, and he frequently spends time learning new songs on his guitar, a hobby he finds both relaxing and rewarding.

Rod believes that learning is a lifelong pursuit and approaches both his work and personal life with curiosity and a commitment to continued growth.
