Peter Delaplane

Peter was an SRV parent before joining the staff in 2019. Peter is an experienced performer and music educator. He has performed as an accompanist and soloist with many organizations in our region and nationally. Some of these include: The Philadelphia Classical Guitar Society, The Wilmington Guitar Society, The Ambler Choral Society, The Anachrusis Women’s Choir, and The Aspen Music Festival. He earned his undergraduate degree. in English Literature from Kenyon College, and a Masters in classical guitar  performance from the Boyer College of Music at Temple University. He served as a faculty member of Settlement Music School, Friends Select School, Abington Friends School, and Germantown Friends. He is the founder and musical director of The Rock Garden, a music program for aspiring musicians of all ages (www.rockgardenmusic.org). In addition to playing classical and fingerstyle guitar, Peter enjoys playing in his folk rock band Sweet 66, and recording and producing in his home studio. In his free time he enjoys mountain biking, foreign languages, Buddhist studies, and traveling.
